Pocahontas Resort is located 35 miles SE of Detroit Lakes; 30 miles NE of Fergus Falls; 20 miles SE of Pelican Rapids; 14 miles SE of Perham; 4 miles South and West of Dent on blacktop, 38034 Highway No. 35.

Dead Lake is a 7,901 acre lake with 165 miles of shoreline located in the heart of the lakes area of Ottertail County, MN. It is one of the largest of Ottertail county's lakes with several islands and many bays for fishing and watersports. The maximum depth of the lake is 65 feet.

Dead Lake is known to be one of the best all around fishing lakes in the county. Recent fish surveys found pike, walleye, largemouth bass, black crappie, and bluegill abundant in the lake. Bass tournaments are held on the lake annually by various clubs. Walleye have been stocked in 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2007.
